Patent Prosecution
Taft’s patent prosecution team consists of more than 50 registered patent attorneys and agents that practice before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and prepare and prosecute patent applications in a broad range of technologies.
Our patent prosecution attorneys provide patentability assessments and written opinions; right-to-use (non-infringement) investigations and opinions; patent license preparation and negotiation; and client counseling relating to both client and competitor patents, as well as related technologies.
With significant experience in the operability and clearance process, sometimes referred to as “right-to-use” or “freedom-to-operate”, we are not only able to evaluate the scope of competitor patents but also to assist clients in successfully designing around such patents to allow them the opportunity to move forward with proposed products and/or processes.
