Summary

Will is an associate in Taft’s Detroit office and works on a range of intellectual property matters, primarily focusing on complex patent and IP litigation. He also counsels and assists clients in protecting their innovations with patent and trademark preparation and prosecution. Will’s practice includes indigent defense and also encompasses a range of technologies for industries such as automotive, medical devices and life sciences, energy, agriculture, pharmaceuticals, and more.

Will helps clients at all stages of the litigation process from pre-suit diligence through appeal. He has represented clients in U.S. district courts across the country, at the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, and before the PTAB.

Prior to his legal career, Will was an engineer in the automotive and medical device industries. He has significant industry experience with research and development and manufacturing. Will earned his J.D. from Wayne State University and a B.S. in biomedical engineering from the George Washington University.

In addition to his IP practice, Will serves as assigned counsel in Wayne County and the Eastern District of Michigan representing clients who are unable to afford an attorney. He has experience defending clients charged with a wide range of felonies in state and federal court.
