Summary
Kim is a partner who counsels clients on environmental compliance, transactional risk management, and complex litigation matters. She helps businesses navigate federal and state regulatory frameworks, including RCRA, the Clean Water Act, the Clean Air Act, CERCLA, and Indiana’s Environmental Legal Action Statute, and provides practical guidance on environmental diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and property transactions. Kim also advises manufacturers and other regulated entities on emerging contaminant issues such as PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances), ensuring alignment with evolving requirements that impact operations and liability exposure.
In addition to her environmental practice, Kim represents clients in high-stakes business, commercial, and fiduciary litigation in state and federal courts. She is known for her strategic, results-oriented approach to dispute resolution and her ability to integrate environmental, regulatory, and commercial considerations into comprehensive client solutions.
Kim plays an active role in the legal and civic communities. She serves as co-chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Indiana State Bar Association and is a member of the Indianapolis Bar Association. Her service includes executive and committee roles with organizations such as Indy Arts Council, Arts for Lawrence, and Friends of Riley.
Her professional honors include listings in Best Lawyers® (2024–present), Best Lawyers® “Ones to Watch” (2022–23), and Indiana Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2022–2026). She was also named to the IBJ’s 40 under 40 list (2026), was a finalist for Indy’s Best and Brightest in Law (2024), and earned recognition as an “Up & Coming Lawyer” in the IBJ/Indiana Lawyer’s Leadership in Law Awards (2022). At Taft, Kim contributes to firmwide leadership initiatives through roles on the Associate Advancement and Recruitment Committee, the Managing Partner Focus Group, and as a former co-chair of the women’s affinity group. Her work strengthens mentorship, inclusion, and professional development across the firm.
