Summary

Michael counsels employers and businesses through complex workplace and commercial disputes, combining decades of litigation experience with a practical understanding of the business realities his clients face every day. A seasoned trial lawyer, he helps clients navigate high-stakes matters with confidence, strategic insight, and a steady focus on achieving the right results.

With more than 25 years of legal experience, Michael brings a unique perspective shaped by service in both the military and the corporate world. He began his legal career as an Air Force Judge Advocate (JAG), where he gained extensive courtroom experience handling criminal prosecutions and defenses. The rigorous trial training and fast-paced demands of military service accelerated his development as a young lawyer, teaching him how to perform under pressure, manage the expectations of senior decision-makers, and advocate effectively. Over the course of his military career, he rose to the rank of colonel while advising and representing clients at every level of leadership.

After transitioning to private practice, Michael found employment law to be a natural extension of the work he enjoyed most as a trial attorney. He was drawn to the human element of the practice, helping organizations address difficult situations, make sound decisions, and move forward productively. Today, his practice focuses on labor and employment matters as well as commercial litigation, where his extensive courtroom experience serves clients facing significant legal and business challenges.

Michael also spent a decade as in-house counsel and assistant general counsel for a Fortune 200 company, giving him firsthand insight into the pressures, priorities, and decision-making processes of business leaders. That experience continues to shape his approach to client service. Rather than simply identifying legal risks, he works collaboratively with clients to develop practical solutions that align with their business objectives and long-term goals.

Whether advising executives on sensitive employment matters, defending businesses in litigation, or trying cases in the courtroom, Michael draws on a career defined by service, leadership, and hands-on trial experience.
