Taft Expands Washington, D.C. Office with Three Strategic Hires
Taft, one of the fastest growing law firms in the nation, today announced the addition of three accomplished attorneys to its Washington, D.C. office, significantly expanding the firm’s Government Contracts, Public Affairs Strategies, and Public Infrastructure capabilities. The strategic hires include Becky Pearson, Teddy Eynon, and Thomas P. Cassidy.
This expansion reflects Taft’s continued commitment to strengthening its presence in key markets and practice areas to better serve clients with comprehensive legal solutions.
The new attorneys joining Taft Washington, D.C. include:
- Becky Pearson joins as a partner in the firm’s Government Contracts Practice Group. She represents clients in high-stakes government contracts disputes and litigation before the Government Accountability Office (GAO), federal courts, and the Federal Aviation Administration Office of Dispute Resolution for Acquisition. Her practice spans bid protests, contract claims before agency boards of contract appeals, False Claims Act defense, and civil litigation with the Department of Justice. Before joining Taft, Pearson served as a Major in the U.S. Air Force Judge Advocate General’s Corps, where she gained firsthand experience in the Air Force Contracts Litigation Office.
- Teddy Eynon joins as a partner in the firm’s Public Affairs Strategies Group. He focuses his practice on public policy and government relations, bringing extensive experience representing clients from a broad range of industries, including health care, financial services, energy and environmental matters, appropriations, and defense and homeland security policy. Eynon has an extensive background in politics and public policy, having previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff to Arizona Congressman John Shadegg and held partner positions at several prominent law firms.
- Thomas Cassidy joins as senior counsel with experience at the intersection of government, finance, and business. He has a deep understanding of policy and transactional work that benefits both government and private clients. With industry knowledge in transportation, shipping, energy, and infrastructure, Cassidy’s clients include traditional banking institutions, P3s, and other financial lenders. His practice also focuses on emerging technology, green solutions, and the electrification of transportation grids. Cassidy began his career on Capitol Hill before serving as a banking regulatory attorney in enforcement.
“We are thrilled to welcome these exceptional attorneys to our Washington, D.C. office,” said Lacy Johnson, partner-in-charge of Taft’s Washington, D.C. office. “Their collective experience significantly enhances our ability to serve clients with government contracts, advise on public policy, and influence infrastructure development—all areas of strategic importance to the firm.
“The addition of Becky, Teddy, and Tom demonstrates our commitment to expanding our presence in the Washington, D.C. market with attorneys who bring both technical expertise and a deep understanding of how government and business intersect,” added Johnson.
Through a series of strategic mergers in recent years, Taft has become one of the fastest-growing firms in the Am Law 100 with more than 1,050 attorneys spanning from the Mountain West region to Washington, D.C. Continuing this momentum, Taft announced its expansion into Florida in March through a merger with the Mrachek Law firm, a litigation boutique based in West Palm Beach and Stuart.
