P3 Bulletin quoted Taft public infrastructure attorney Tom John in an article on how technology is reshaping the way P3 projects derive and maintain revenue. John discussed the rise of real-time underwriting, the evolution of the Indiana Toll Road toward risk-sharing, and the industry’s need to move past market-standard structures.

“Ultimately, there will be new revenue streams, but technology provides so much more data that we’ve got to figure out how to translate that revenue stream,” said John. “This new mountain of data empowers you to create mechanisms to adjust contracts in real time, to reassign risk more equitably and exactly.”
