Summary
Zack focuses his practice on construction litigation, lien and bond claims, construction defect claims, professional negligence claims, arbitration, and contract negotiation. Throughout his career, he has worked on various complex litigation matters concerning business and commercial disputes and previously defended nationwide class action claims arising under consumer protection statutes in both state and federal court.
Prior to joining Taft, Zack was a partner at a boutique Florida law firm specializing in construction.
Zack earned his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law. While in law school, he served on the executive board of a law review and authored two articles, which were published in the Miami Law Institutional Repository. He was also the Vice President of the Cardozo Jewish Legal Society and served as a Judicial Intern to the Hon. Kenneth Gillespie for the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit Court of Florida.

- Obtained final summary judgment on behalf of general contractor and surety against payment bond claim by material supplier (appeal pending).
- Obtained $1,228,367 Arbitration Award in favor of client in breach of contract dispute.
- Obtained $300,000 settlement in action involving breaches of subcontract and teaming agreement on public construction project.
- Obtained settlement on behalf of plaintiff glass and glazing subcontractor from two defendants in amount of $205,000 in product defect action.
- Obtained partial summary judgment on behalf of hotel owner/developer against subcontractor’s lien foreclosure action, resulting in dismissal of action.
- Obtained $80,000 pre-suit settlement for general contractor’s breach of contract claim against Project owners.
- Moved for summary judgment against claims for breach of contract and violations of Florida’s Condominium Act, resulting in plaintiff’s dismissal of claims.
- Defeated subcontractor’s motion for summary judgment on its breach of contract claim regarding pay-when-paid clause.
- Defeated motions for summary judgment as to lost profits and unlicensed contracting claims.
- Negotiated over 20 subcontracts for construction projects including Brickell World Plaza, Wynwood Square, Domus Brickell, Miami World Center, Vida Edgewater, Belmont Village Aventura, Glass House Boca Raton, 320 Lakeview, Walmart Stores, and 9 Hollywood.
