William A. Doyle

Will is a trusted counselor to a diverse range of public and private companies. He is a member of Taft’s Commercial Litigation Group, where he specializes in intellectual property, M&A, private equity, and real estate litigation. He represents clients in complex, high-stakes disputes across many industries and disciplines.

Will advises clients on intellectual property, corporate, and commercial disputes. His intellectual property practice includes trade secret and trademark litigation in state and federal courts, as well as proceedings before the U.S. Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. He also represents clients in disputes involving non-compete and other restrictive covenants, advising on enforcement and defense strategies.

Will has extensive experience representing private equity portfolio companies in litigation and other business disputes. His commercial litigation practice spans contract and real estate transaction disputes, as well as complex matters that may arise from corporate transactions and business operations.

A relationship-driven partner, Will’s focus extends beyond commercial litigation. He regularly draws on Taft’s ability to meet every legal need to help clients with whatever issues they face. Will also loves identifying opportunities for strategic growth and cross-selling for his clients. Whether introducing real estate developers to potential investors or private equity funds to industry-focused family offices, Will is always looking for strategic opportunities to collaborate with clients, connect them with other Taft attorneys and professionals, and introduce them to one another.

Will is a leader in Taft’s Cleveland office and an active connector across the firm and the Greater Cleveland business and legal communities. As the Cleveland partner on Taft’s Associate Advancement and Recruiting Committee, he strengthens the firm’s talent pipeline by supporting recruitment and retention and by building relationships with emerging legal talent.
