Summary

Thibault is a senior associate at Taft focusing on private equity, mergers and acquisitions, and general corporate matters. He also serves as co-chair of Taft’s French practice, where he advises French companies on entering the U.S. market, executing strategic transactions, and navigating the complexities of cross-border M&A — including CFIUS considerations for foreign investment in the U.S. As a dual French-American national with deep roots in both cultures, Thibault brings a unique perspective to his practice, bridging the gap between French and American business environments to deliver advice that is both legally sound and commercially attuned to the realities French clients face when operating in the U.S.

Thibault serves on the board of directors of the French American Chamber of Commerce Chicago (FACC-Chicago).

Thibault earned his Tax LL.M. from New York University (NYU) School of Law and his J.D. from Indiana University Maurer School of Law. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, summa cum laude, from the University of Missouri-Kansas City (UMKC), where he served as captain of the men’s golf team and president of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and was a two-time recipient of the NCAA Division I All-American Scholar award.

Thibault is a native French speaker.
