Summary
Spencer is an associate in the Taft’s Energy group. His practice includes a variety of permitting energy infrastructure, ratemaking proceedings, and power purchase agreements for renewable energy projects, such as solar, wind, and battery energy storage systems for public utilities, transmission owners, and private equity firms. He has also represented these entities on regulated and non-regulated transactional matters. In addition to his energy-related work, Spencer represents telecommunications companies on regulatory compliance matters.
Spencer currently sits on the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Energy and Public Utilities Law Section board, and is Taft’s member representative to Twin Cities Diversity in Practice. He regularly presents and writes on ethics related to professional engineering licensure.
