Summary
Shelby is an attorney in Taft’s Employment and Labor Relations practice group. She counsels employers on the range of matters they encounter in managing their workforce, with an emphasis on traditional labor law and occupational safety and health.
As part of her labor practice, Shelby advises businesses on union organizing, collective bargaining, and labor disputes. She also litigates unfair labor practice charges before the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). On the workplace safety side of her practice, Shelby guides clients through day-to-day compliance issues and represents them in all phases of Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) enforcement proceedings.
Prior to joining Taft, Shelby was an employment and labor associate at a national law firm, where she gained experience defending employers in federal and state courts.
Shelby earned her J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton School of Law where she served as Public Relations and Media Editor of the University of Dayton Law Review. During law school, her work as a law clerk at GE Aerospace provided an early foundation in labor law. Shelby holds a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, in business administration from The Ohio State University.
