Summary

Michael is a real estate attorney with particular expertise in renewable energy transactions, real estate development, real estate finance, and leasing. He has represented a broad array of clients in the wind and solar energy industry, including developers, investors, owners, and lenders. Michael has extensive experience representing both landlords and tenants in lease negotiations for a wide range of property types, including office, retail, warehouse, industrial, manufacturing, and renewable energy.

In addition to his law firm experience, Michael was in-house at two different corporations—RWE Renewables Americas and the McDonald’s Corporation. At RWE, he served as Assistant General Counsel, where he handled all legal aspects of real estate for utility-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects. At McDonald’s, he served as development Counsel, where he handled all aspects of new property development, including property acquisition, leasing, due diligence, and permitting.

Michael received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Illinois College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Minnesota.
