James B. Young

Jamie is a corporate attorney in Taft’s Cleveland office. He advises public companies, private companies, and private equity sponsors on domestic and cross-border mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, and equity financings. Jamie’s transactional experience spans manufacturing and industrials, construction and building services, chemicals and advanced materials, technology, and healthcare.

Jamie also counsels private equity funds on fund formation, governance, and regulatory compliance. In addition, Jamie serves as outside counsel to portfolio companies and privately held businesses. That work covers corporate governance, commercial contracts, day-to-day legal matters, and strategic initiatives.

Jamie earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and has a bachelor’s degrees in finance and political science from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

• Counsel to Edgewater Capital Partners in its acquisition of AmeriWater, a designer and manufacturer of water-purification systems.
• Counsel to Edgewater Capital Partners in its acquisition of Deerpoint Group, a provider of sustainable agriculture solutions.
• Counsel to Evantic, a portfolio company of Edgewater Capital Partners, in its acquisition of Vertec Polymers, Inc., a manufacturer of engineered PEEK, PPS, PTFE, PFA, and other advanced polymeric materials.
