Associate Albuquerque

Summary

Camila Gutierrez Writtenberry is an associate in Taft’s Public Finance and Economic Development group, where she advises public and private clients on financing tools that drive infrastructure, economic development, and long-term community investment across New Mexico. Her practice includes the formation and governance of special districts such as Public Improvement Districts (PIDs), Tax Increment Development Districts (TIDDs), and Metropolitan Redevelopment Areas (MRAs), as well as general obligation, revenue, and housing bond transactions.

She has contributed to major public-private projects including the Mesa del Sol TIDD, Winrock PID, and South Campus TIDD. Camila brings a deep understanding of New Mexico’s public finance landscape, grounded in both legal experience and a practical awareness of the economic and political realities that shape local development.

In addition to her legal work, Camila is the founder and owner of a national translation and interpretation firm. Her business serves clients across the country and reflects her long-standing commitment to language access and cultural competency, values that continue to shape her legal and public service work.

Born in Santiago, Chile, Camila immigrated to New Mexico in 2001 and now lives in Albuquerque with her family. She earned her J.D. from the University of Denver Sturm College of Law and holds a B.A. in Political Science from the University of New Mexico. She is fluent in both English and Spanish, which enables her to build strong, accessible relationships with clients and communities throughout the state. Camila was appointed by Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham as co-chair of the Interagency Coordinating Council for New Mexico’s Early Intervention Program and continues to advocate for inclusive policy and access to services. She volunteers with the American Cancer Society’s Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk and was honored as New Mexico’s first Caretaker Honoree for the 2025 campaign.
