Summary
Ashley focuses her municipal practice in litigation with a concentration on redevelopment, real estate, utility and telecommunications, zoning and planning, land use, construction project management, music and movie licensing, code enforcement litigation, public safety discipline, contract negotiation, and employment law.
Prior to joining Taft, Ashley served as City Attorney for the City of Carmel, Ind. and General Counsel to the Carmel Redevelopment Commission. She began her legal career serving as a deputy prosecuting attorney. While a prosecutor, Ashley litigated dozens of jury trials, as well as hundreds of bench trials.
Professional and community involvement is important to Ashley. She is a member of the Indiana Municipal Lawyers Association where she serves as a member of the litigation committee and has been appointed to serve on the AIM Utilities Policy Committee. She is also a member of the International Municipal Lawyers Association and serves as the Indiana State Chair. Ashley also volunteers on the events committee for the Carmel Youth Assistance Program (CYAP) and enjoyed her time serving the Carmel community on the board of directors for the Center for the Performing Arts where she was instrumental in the development of its young professionals organization, “The Scene.”
