Abigail M. Thederahn

Abbie serves as a strategic partner to human resources professionals, in-house counsel, and business leaders. She helps employers make informed, practical workplace decisions that manage legal risk and support their operational objectives.

Abbie advises employers on the full range of day-to-day employment issues, including hiring, discipline, terminations, workplace investigations, employment agreements, restrictive covenants, employee handbooks, and workplace policies. She also counsels clients on discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage-and-hour compliance, employee classification, disability accommodations, and leave issues under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and applicable state and local laws. Drawing on her litigation experience, Abbie helps clients identify and address potential exposure before disputes arise.

When litigation is unavoidable, Abbie represents employers in state and federal court and before administrative agencies, including the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) and the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC). She represents employers in single-plaintiff employment matters, noncompete and trade secret litigation, and wage-and-hour class and collective actions under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and state law.
