Taft Attorneys Participated in Pro Bono Criminal Record-Sealing Clinic
Taft partnered with JPMorgan Chase and the Legal Aid Society of Columbus to offer a criminal record-sealing clinic in Columbus, Ohio on July 23. The pro bono clinic provided an opportunity for low-income individuals facing barriers to housing or employment to receive tailored advice from an attorney regarding their eligibility for record-sealing or other options to address the collateral sanctions of criminal legal system involvement. Clients who were eligible for sealing then received help preparing their pro se forms for filing. The event was a collaboration with the Ohio State Legal Services Association and took place at the Northern Lights branch of JPMorgan Chase, which provided the space at its location on Cleveland Avenue in North Linden. Taft participants included Jim Abrams, Kiamesha Colom, Ron Johnson, and David Washbush.
