Sherman & Howard Ranks in Top 2 in 3 States and Top 20 Nationally in Bond Buyer Public Finance Rankings

Sherman & Howard ranked in the top two spots in three states in varying aspects of municipal publicly offered bond sales last year and No. 14 nationally as disclosure counsel and No. 20 nationally as underwriter’s counsel for municipal bonds offered last year, according to Refinitiv’s Bond Buyer rankings for 2022.

Sherman & Howard’s state rankings are as follows:

Underwriter’s Counsel

  • No. 1 in Colorado with $3.3 billion in bonds, or 29% of the market

Bond Counsel

  • 1 in Nevada with $1.59 billion in bonds, or 80.6% of the market
  • 2 in New Mexico with $325 million in bonds, or 19.2% of the market
  • 7 in Colorado with $466.7 million in bonds, or 4.1% of the market

Disclosure Counsel

  • 2 in Nevada with $745 million in bonds, or 37.6% of the market
  • 2 in Colorado with $1.2 billion in bonds, or 10.8% of the market
  • 2 in New Mexico with $272.6 million in bonds, or 16% of the market

Disclosure Counsel

  • 14 in the U.S. with $2.245 billion in bonds

Underwriter’s Counsel

  • 20 in the U.S. with $3.625 billion in bonds

Rankings, which are published annually across the nation by Refinitiv, rank firms based on total dollar volume of bond issues completed in the previous year as bond counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter’s counsel for publicly offered bonds.

Sherman & Howard was ranked by Best Lawyers “Best Law Firms” by U.S. News and World Report in the area of Public Finance as a Tier 2 firm nationally and a Tier 1 firm in Colorado. The firm also ranked Tier 2 in Albuquerque, N.M. for public finance.
