Tyler Cobb Quoted in The Bond Buyer on Arizona Infrastructure Financing Law
Taft partner Tyler Cobb was quoted in The Bond Buyer regarding Arizona’s new State Affordability Infrastructure District (SAID) law and its potential to expand the use of land-secured municipal bond financing for housing and other development infrastructure.
In the September 29 article, “New Arizona Law Boosts Muni Bonds as a Tool for Housing Infrastructure,” Tyler explained how the new framework creates a more standardized path for financing public infrastructure. He noted that the law does not alter local control over development decisions, but instead changes the mechanism through which infrastructure costs may be financed: “This doesn’t change what gets built or how it gets built, it just changes how it gets paid for.” Tyler also discussed the anticipated demand for SAID financing and its potential to significantly increase infrastructure-financing activity in Arizona.
