Denver7 News Quotes Christian Hendrickson on Colorado House Bills Impacting Mobile Home Park Property Rights
Denver7 News quoted Sherman & Howard’s Christian Hendrickson in an article titled “Two bills aim to give mobile home pack tenants more rights in Colorado.” The article, published on Feb. 25, discusses the potential impact of House Bill 20-1201 and House Bill 20-1196 on mobile home park property rights.
Hendrickson was quoted speaking out against HB 20-1201 on behalf of the Rocky Mountain Home Association at a Colorado House committee hearing. He noted, “At the end of the day, [HB 20-1201] is a very strong infringement on private property rights, and it’s unfair to single out this one type of commercial property.” Concerns were also raised regarding the potential negative impact of HB 20-1196, several management companies argued that the bill would prevent them from creating and enforcing necessary rules without engaging in a lengthy process. Hendrickson warned, “There’s more regulation on unsubsidized affordable housing, and the more you regulate it, the harder it is to provide [such housing].”
