Bob Hicks, Taft's chairman and managing partner, and David Charles, a partner at Katz Sapper & Miller, were jointly crowned Pink Tie Guys of the Year at the Susan G. Komen Central Indiana 2017 Pink Tie Ball. By creating a matching program and working together as one fundraising team, Hicks and Charles raised more than $85,000 in Komen's fight against breast cancer. In addition, as an added "incentive" for people to donate, they committed to wearing bright pink tuxedos to the event, which was chaired by Taft partner Jayna Cacioppo for the third year in a row. The event raised over $250,000, the most successful ever. Proceeds from the event support Komen's mission to invest in breakthrough research to prevent and cure breast cancer.
