Bilott to be Speaker of Honor at Iowa Environmental Council Annual Conference
Taft partner Robert A. Bilott will be the "Speaker of Honor" at the Iowa Environmental Council Annual Conference on Oct. 6 at the Des Moines Area Community College – Ankeny Campus. This year's conference, titled "ECOnomics: Dollars, Sense and Sustainability," will explore the bond between our environment, communities and economy. Bilott will present "Unregulated Drinking Water Contaminants: Regulatory, Legal and Scientific Challenges."
Bilott has been a frequent speaker on topics related to his work to hold DuPont accountable for the harm caused by its release of PFOA in and around Parkersburg, W.Va. Bilott, who serves as co-lead counsel for the plaintiffs' steering committee handling the litigation, has been in the spotlight since New York Times Magazine dubbed him "The Lawyer Who Became DuPont's Worst Nightmare" in an article published on Jan. 6, 2016. He is a member of Taft's Environmental, Litigation and Product Liability and Personal Injury groups and represents a diverse range of clients on a wide variety of matters involving federal, state and local environmental laws and related litigation.
