Beating DuPont and 3M, Fighting the Manufacturers of PFAS “Forever Chemicals,” and Saving Lives
This webinar will delve into Taft partner Rob Bilott’s successful and pioneering work uncovering and revealing the worldwide PFAS “forever chemicals” contamination problem, and related decades of litigation against PFAS manufacturers like DuPont and 3M. To date, this litigation has resulted in the recovery of billions of dollars for the victims of such contamination. Bilott and Holman will discuss the various legal theories used in these cases and the resulting international recognition of Bilott’s unique experience with PFAS-related issues. Bilott’s legal journey has been chronicled in his book Exposure: Poisoned Water, Corporate Greed, and One Lawyer’s Twenty-Year Battle Against DuPont (which inspired the Hollywood film Dark Waters, starring Mark Ruffalo as Bilott), and his work has been featured in numerous articles, television shows, radio interviews, podcasts, and documentaries across the world, including “The Devil We Know” and “How to Poison A Planet.”
