Terrance Carroll
Summary
Terrance leads the Colorado Public Affairs Strategies Group and represents clients in government and political law matters, including corporate political activity. He understands the letter of the law and its application within the framework of public policy objectives and the political landscape. He counsels businesses, advocacy groups, charities, associations, and political organizations on the full range of legal issues related to their efforts to influence government, public policy, and elections. Additionally, Terrance provides legal guidance to clients facing urgent, high-stakes, and politically sensitive situations that pose significant reputational and operational risks.
In 2003, he was elected to the Colorado House of Representatives, where he eventually served as the 54th Speaker of the House, the only African American to do so. Since then, he has become known as a well-respected attorney who is a trusted ally to his clients and whose unique experiences set him apart from his peers. As a former Speaker of the House, Terrance has an unparalleled understanding of how government actors make decisions, including the formal and informal considerations that factor into that decision-making. He is skillful at navigating the complex interplay between government officials, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders in politics and policymaking.
Terrance is involved in many professional and civic organizations and has served as an adjunct professor and distinguished guest lecturer at educational institutions.
Terrance is licensed to practice law in Colorado only.
