Summary
Stephen is an associate in Taft’s Indianapolis office and a registered patent attorney with experience providing IP services, with a focus on patent preparation and prosecution to individuals, universities, and companies of all sizes. He has experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in technologies such as medical devices, agricultural equipment, locks and access control devices, as well as other mechanical and electromechanical areas of technology. Stephen also has experience with managing patent portfolios locally in the U.S. and in foreign jurisdictions.
Prior to his bar admission, Stephen worked as an intellectual property law clerk at Taft for a year. He earned his J.D. from the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law with a graduate certificate in Intellectual Property Law and his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University. While in law school, he worked as a patent practitioner at the Intellectual Property Clinic and was president of the Intellectual Property Student Association.
