Sophie E. H. Rayzor

As a commercial litigator, Sophie represents individual and corporate clients across myriad industries in federal and state court. She is a detail-oriented advocate who is well-versed in commercial litigation, trademark and copyright disputes, and white collar investigations. Sophie has extensive experience defending class actions, particularly in the context of the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), and the Lanham Act, as well as Washington’s Commercial Electronic Mail Act (CEMA) and analogous statutes. Her pro bono practice includes representing inmates with serious medical needs and seeking asylum for victims of religious persecution.

Prior to joining Taft, Sophie proudly served as a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Mark J. Dinsmore in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana. Sophie thoroughly enjoyed her clerkship experience, during which she gained invaluable writing experience and expanded her working knowledge of complex civil procedure. As a federal clerk, Sophie assisted with drafting numerous orders and overseeing civil cases from discovery to disposition, and she gained a deep well of knowledge regarding social security appeals.
