Summary

Simon is a veteran attorney who blends deep legal expertise with business leadership to provide clients with practical solutions to challenging issues.

For nearly 30 years, Simon has been a trusted litigator with significant trial experience. From January 2018 until the firm’s merger with Taft in December 2025, he served as Managing Partner and Chairman of the Management Committee at Morris, Manning and Martin, LLP. Today, he is a member of Taft’s Executive Committee, where he continues to help shape strategy for the combined firm.

Simon’s unique perspective stems from his experience as both a commercial litigator and a leader of an Am Law 200 firm. This combination enables him to navigate the intersection of law and business with rare insight to help clients identify legal risks, assess opportunities, and guide them toward effective, business-focused solutions.

Simon is a registered mediator with the Georgia Office of Dispute Resolution. In his role as a neutral, he is one of few people who can speak the language of lawyers, insurers, and clients, and help them find effective resolutions to commercial disputes without lengthy and costly litigation.

A former foster parent, Simon is deeply involved in his community, serving as a long-time volunteer for the Metro Atlanta YMCA, as a certified service dog trainer for Canine Assistants, a member of Board of Councilors of the Carter Center, a member of the Advisory Board of the Pro Bono Partnership of Atlanta, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Metro Atlanta Chamber. He is also a passionate advocate for mental health and pioneered a groundbreaking Wellness Program at Morris Manning, which provided free, on-site therapy sessions for all employees. The program continues to provide services in Taft’s Atlanta and Washington, D.C. (Dupont Circle), offices.

A leading voice in the legal industry, Simon frequently writes and speaks on issues related to litigation strategy, law firm management and economics, mental health in the legal industry, and legal ethics.
