Sara E. M. Oakes

Sara is dedicated to advising clients on the technical and strategic implications of complex transactions and tax law, so they can achieve their business objectives in the most efficient manner. Prior to joining Taft, Sara was a tax manager with an independent tax advisory firm where she guided clients through tax-exempt applications, reorganizations, charitable giving and strategies, unrelated business income tax, and transaction structuring matters.

Although clients initially seek out Sara for technical advice and transactional leadership, she quickly becomes their trusted advisor on a broad range of legal and strategic subjects because clients know she believes in their vision and is committed to making it a reality. She distills complex concepts and overlapping considerations into clearly understandable inflection points, so her clients can make the right decisions for their companies.
