Russell chairs the firm's Commercial Litigation practice. He concentrates his practice on litigation, arbitration and dispute resolution. Since 1990, Russell has represented corporate, business and individual clients in federal and state courts, in alternative dispute resolution, and before state administrative boards. He is admitted to practice in all Ohio courts, in the United States District Courts for the Southern District of Ohio and the Southern District of Indiana, and in the United States Courts of Appeals for the Third and Sixth Circuits.
Russell is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law, where he was executive editor of the Virginia Tax Review. He is active in the Cincinnati Bar Association and has served as a lecturer in continuing legal education programs. Before attending law school, Russell was an economist with the Internal Revenue Service.
Russell is recognized in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. He has been listed in Best Lawyers in America since 2006 and was named 2017 and 2015 "Lawyer of the Year" for Cincinnati Appellate Practice. He is listed in the 2017 edition of The Best Lawyers in America for Appellate Practice, Commercial Litigation, and Litigation - Banking and Finance. Russell was also named a “Local Litigation Star - Ohio” for General Commercial Litigation by Benchmark Litigation.
