Summary
Rachel is an associate in Taft’s Chicago office in the Real Estate group. Her practice focuses on real estate transactions, with particular emphasis on acquisitions, dispositions and sale-and-leaseback transactions. She has experience representing developers, investors, financial institutions, and private entities in all aspects of commercial real estate transactions including financings, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures, and leasing across a variety of asset classes.
Prior to joining Taft, Rachel practiced in the Real Estate group at White & Case. She later served as the Legal Director for an asset management company that owned, operated and managed hundreds of properties across the country. In her role, Rachel was responsible for ensuring that the company’s operations adhered to relevant laws and regulations in the real estate sector. She provided legal guidance on asset management, drafted and negotiated contracts at both the asset and enterprise level, and oversaw compliance initiatives.
Rachel earned her J.D., with a Certificate of Specialization in Law and Business from Vanderbilt University Law School and her bachelor’s degree, with distinction, in English from the University of Michigan. While in law school, Rachel served on the Vanderbilt Journal of Entertainment and Technology Law, was Vice President of the Jewish Law Students’ Association, and an active member of the Law and Business Society.
