Summary

Patrice is a partner in the Employment and Labor Relations practice group. She is a seasoned advocate, having represented public and private businesses of all sizes in state and federal courts and administrative agencies. As a senior counselor, she provides comprehensive counsel and strategic planning in all matters pertaining to employment and labor law issues.

Patrice’s goal is to help employers navigate the daily challenges involved in employment relationships. This representation includes some of the following services:

  • Counseling clients on all facets of the employment relationship, including hiring, discipline, and termination.
  • Drafting documents related to employees and service providers, such as applications, offer letters, employment agreements, compensation agreements, independent contractor agreements, employee handbooks, workplace policies, confidentiality agreements, non-solicitation and non-compete agreements, and severance agreements.
  • Advising clients on employment compliance issues, including the Family Medical Leave Act, disability accommodations, wage and hour issues, and reductions in force.
  • Assisting clients in navigating investigations into employee allegations of harassment, discrimination, retaliation, and workplace violence.
  • Conducting corporate training in all areas of employment law.
  • Should litigation unfortunately arise, providing effective counsel through that process, including analysis of risk, litigation costs, and potential exposure.

Patrice speaks regularly at training seminars on labor and employment issues. She is often quoted on employment law matters in newspapers and other media.

With a background in commercial litigation, Patrice is active in other aspects of civil trial, appellate litigation, and commercial litigation as part of her practice.

Before joining the firm, Patrice served as a staff attorney for the Supreme Court of Illinois.
