Summary

Neal Buethe has over 40 years experience as an employment, trust litigation and non profit corporation attorney. He represents a state wide professional association, has been counsel of record in some of the state’s more complex trust matters and has served as long time general counsel to many important Minnesota foundations, schools, public charities and religious organizations.

Neal now focuses his practice on legacy planning for religious organizations. This practice does the legal work in the complex process of transforming long time religious institutions into ongoing forces for good consistent with their mission while still providing for current members and ministries. Such legacy planning requires multifaceted expertise in trust, real estate, tax, employment and other corporate law areas. Neal designs the right Taft team of experienced attorneys to address these needs and to work with leadership and other consultants. But advising the organization’s leadership in such a pivotal and defining changes requires more than specific legal expertise. It also requires respect for and sensitivity to the difficulties of such transformations for institutions to which so many have dedicated their lives.
