Summary

Dorie is a partner in Taft’s Employment and Labor Relations practice. She is a trusted advisor helping clients navigate complex and critical employment issues. Dorie counsels employers across industries, bringing an interdisciplinary approach to helping leaders navigate the employer-employee relationship.

Dorie practices principally in the areas of day-to-day and strategic counseling and employment litigation. She guides employers on:

  • Internal investigations;
  • Employment, separation, and non-compete agreements;
  • Complex employee relations issues;
  • Policy development, including handbook creation; and
  • Fair Labor Standards Act, Family and Medical Leave Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and Civil Rights Act of 1964 (Title VII) compliance.

As a former commercial litigator, Dorie has also represented clients in all stages of litigation in state and federal courts on a wide variety of business disputes.

Prior to joining Taft, she clerked for the Hon. Joseph F. Bianco of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York and was an associate in the litigation group at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP in New York. Before attending law school, Dorie worked as a strategy consultant for The Boston Consulting Group.

Dorie earned her J.D. from Duke University School of Law and her B.A., summa cum laude, from Duke University.
