With over a decade of experience working alongside individuals, families, and children in crisis, Kate is a creative and steadfast advocate who prioritizes building strong relationships with her clients and professional counterparts.
As an associate in Taft’s Domestic Relations group, Kate’s practice covers a variety of family law matters, including divorce, custody disputes, modifications, spousal maintenance, child support, prenuptial & marital agreements, adoptions, and protection orders.
Before joining Taft, Kate worked as family law & general practice attorney at a local firm in Wyoming. There, she gained experience in all types of domestic relations matters, as well as a wide array of other practice areas, including juvenile law, contract law, estate planning, business formation, civil litigation, campaign & election law, municipal law, criminal defense, and appellate work.
While earning her J.D., with honors, from the University of Wyoming College of Law, Kate served as Student Director of the Family & Child Legal Advocacy Clinic representing clients in a range of family law matters, and supervising other student attorneys, and volunteers. Kate also interned with both the Wyoming Office of Guardian ad Litem and the University of Wyoming Title IX Office, worked as a student attorney in the Defender’s Aid Clinic, and served in numerous leadership positions for student organizations.
Prior to attending law school, Kate graduated cum laude from Northeastern University with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and psychology. During her time in Boston, Kate worked for the Massachusetts Office for Victim Assistance serving survivors of violent crime and as a direct care provider for children in residential group foster care.
Kate is licensed to practice law in Wyoming only.
