Jonathon Dotson

Jonathon is an Associate in Taft’s Business practice group where he works with clients on a broad range of corporate matters, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and general business transactions.

Prior to joining the firm, Jonathon served as a judicial law clerk in the Commercial Division of Circuit Court of Cook County, where he spent two years assisting with a wide variety of sophisticated business disputes and commercial matters. This experience provides him with valuable insight into the legal and practical considerations that can arise in corporate transactions and business operations.

Jonathon earned his J.D. in 2019 and holds a bachelor’s degree in German. His academic background reflects a strong foundation in communication and cross-cultural understanding, skills that continue to inform his approach to providing practical client service and problem-solving.

In addition to his legal practice, Jonathon is an active member of LAGBAC and serves on the Inclusion & Opportunity Committee at Taft, reflecting his dedication to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion within the legal profession and the communities it serves.
