Summary

Joe is an experienced Domestic Relations associate in Taft’s Minneapolis office. He has managed caseloads of various civil matters, with a focus on family law and juvenile protection.

Prior to joining the firm, Joe worked as a judicial law clerk for the Hon. Jeanne Cochran and the Hon. Elizabeth Bentley, Minnesota Court of Appeals. After law school, Joe was a Staff Attorney for Mid-Minnesota Legal Aid, representing and counseling low-income and elderly clients from a clinic at the Division of Indian Work on matters including third-party custody, custody modification, the Indian Child Welfare Act, and criminal expungement.

Joe earned his J.D., magna cum laude and Order of the Coif, from the University of Minnesota Law School. While in law school, Joe was the Managing Director of the Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Moot Court and externed for the Hon. Nancy E. Brasel, U.S. District Judge, District of Minnesota. Joe holds a master’s degree in communication and a bachelor’s degree, cum laude, in socio-political communication from Missouri State University.

In addition to his busy practice, Joe also teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Law School for a section of the Civil Rights/Civil Liberties Moot Court class.
