James B. Young

Jamie is an associate focusing on corporate and finance matters.

Prior to joining Taft, Jamie was an associate with a well-known regional law firm, where he focused his practice on corporate and transactional matters including securities law, corporate finance, and mergers and acquisitions.

Jamie earned his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law and earned bachelor’s degrees in finance and political science from the State University of New York at Fredonia. While in law school, Jamie was a Law and Leadership scholar and served as Executive Notes Editor for Case Western Reserve University’s Health Matrix: The Journal of Law-Medicine.

• Counsel to Visante, a specialized consulting firm focused on helping health systems accelerate strong financial and operational performance through pharmacy, in connection with an investment by Avesi Partners.
• Counsel to Midwest Precision Products, Inc., a manufacturer of “seatbelts for pallets,” in its sale to The Heico Companies.
• Counsel to Evantic, a portfolio company of Edgewater Capital Partners, in connection with its add-on acquisition of Plastic Distributors and Fabricators, LLC (PDF). PDF is a manufacturer and fabricator of high-precision, difficult to machine plastic components.
• Counsel to Edgewater Capital Partners in its acquisition of AmeriWater, an industry leader in the design, manufacture, installation, and supply of water purification systems.
