Summary
Jack is an attorney in Taft’s Columbus office. He is a dedicated trial attorney who represents clients in all litigation areas, including business litigation, aviation, product liability, premises liability, personal injury, medical malpractice defense, long term care defense, insurance defense, and eminent domain. Jack specializes in commercial litigation. He represents clients of all sizes in all aspects of litigation, from pre-suit resolution through trial.
Additionally, Jack represents student-athletes and their parents in cases involving student-athlete eligibility under the Ohio High School Athletic Association’s bylaws. Jack advises clients on the use of their Name, Image and Likeness (aka NIL) and the athlete Personal Branding Rights to ensure compliance with OHSAA bylaws. Jack ensures that student-athletes and their parents navigate the OHSAA bylaws properly to serve the best interests of the student-athlete through their continued participation in sports.
His practice also focuses on all areas of adoption law, including infant adoptions, stepparent adoptions, foster care adoptions, and LGBTQIA+ adoptions.
Through internships at the Ohio State Senate and the Public Policy and Affairs section of the Ohio Attorney General’s office, Jack has developed a robust practice with experience in a wide range of issues. Jack was a judicial extern to the Hon. Edmund A. Sargus, Jr., U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, and was an extern for The Supreme Court of Ohio, Children’s and Families Section.
Prior to joining Taft, Jack worked as a litigation associate at a smaller regional firm and primarily focused his practice on liability defense, including catastrophic injury, wrongful death, premises liability, product liability, insurance coverage, and toxic torts. Jack earned his J.D., magna cum laude, from Capital University Law School and his bachelor’s degree in political science and government, summa cum laude, from the University of Dayton. While in law school, Jack earned numerous CALI awards and was a Capital University Law Review staff member.
