Summary
Holland is a seasoned tax attorney with extensive experience in tax credit compliance, litigation, and advisory services across federal and state jurisdictions. He has represented a diverse clientele, including corporations, pass-through entities, and individuals, before the IRS and state taxing authorities.
In his tax credit practice, he has helped clients with a wide variety of credits from federal statutory credits, including the Employee Retention Credit, Research and Development Credit, investment tax credits (Section 48 and 48E), Historic Rehabilitation Tax credits, and state tax incentives, including statutory and training credits, and negotiated incentives.
In his state and local tax practice, he helps clients navigate income, franchise, and sales and use tax issues. He counsels clients on the applicability of state sales and use taxes to both their sales and purchases, the availability of exemptions, and procedures for claiming exemptions. Holland also represents clients in state sales and use tax audits, administrative appeals, and litigation.
Holland is an active member of the American Bar Association, Georgia Tech Bar Association, and the Institute for Professionals in Taxation. Additionally, Holland writes about credits and incentives in his Substack newsletter, Incentive Insider.
