Summary

Chris is a trial lawyer and a partner in Taft’s Dayton office where he is a member of the Litigation practice group. In his near decade of experience, Chris has represented clients through all aspects of the civil litigation process, tried multiple cases to winning verdicts in both state and federal court, and has successfully defended those verdicts on appeal. Chris focuses his practice on commercial litigation but also has experience in probate and wealth transfer litigation, administrative and alternative dispute resolution proceedings, labor and employment matters, and business issues.

For his outstanding work on behalf of his clients, Chris has been recognized as a multi-time Best Lawyers “Ones to Watch” and a Super Lawyers “Rising Star” honoree, a Dayton Business Journal Forty Under 40 class member, and Rising Star of the Bar, and a Tiffin University Carry the Torch Award winner which honors distinguished alumni of the school’s track and cross country teams.

In the community, Chris is involved in numerous civic and community organizations, including the Dayton Bar Association where he is a member of the Board of Trustees; the Federal Bar Association where he is currently the Vice President of the Dayton Chapter, a Sixth Circuit Representative on the National Younger Lawyers’ Division Board, and the Director of the Thurgood Marshall Memorial Moot Court Competition; and the Miami Valley Council of Scouting America where he is a member of the Executive Board. Chris has also volunteered as a cross country and track coach with both the Waynesville High School and Middle School teams as well as the Juniors Summer Running Club for kids. Finally, Chris is a member of Taft’s Pro Bono Committee, has been named to numerous pro bono honor rolls, and continues to make pro bono work a high priority in his practice.

Prior to joining Taft, Chris was a judicial law clerk for the Honorable Melissa T. Standridge at the Kansas Court of Appeals. He obtained his J.D. from the University of Kansas School of Law and his bachelor’s degree from Tiffin University, magna cum laude, where he was also a member of the school’s cross country and track teams.
