Summary

Brenda is a paralegal in Taft’s Southfield office and supports the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions and Corporate Governance practice groups. Her expertise includes preparing audit letter responses; forming profit and non-profit corporations, limited liability companies, and limited partnerships; and, preparing, amending and maintaining integral internal corporate documents such as consent resolutions, minutes, bylaws, stock certificates, and operating agreements. Brenda is experienced in preparing public and private legal documents for various corporate transactions and regulatory compliance. Further, Brenda is experienced in obtaining tax identification numbers, filing Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) liens, conducting UCC and tax lien searches, and handling out-of-state qualifications.

Additionally, Brenda offers services in the preparation of Federal and State trademark applications, and copyright applications trademark, copyright, and patent assignments; performing trademark and patent chain of title searches and analyzing issues; submitting trademark and patent assignments and various other intellectual property agreements to the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). Her extensive work in the area of intellectual property matters also includes submitting copyright assignments to the U.S. Copyright Office and trademark renewals to the USPTO and World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). She corresponds regularly with international partners on various trademark and patent matters, including applications, renewals, assignments, and security interests.

Brenda earned her paralegal certificate from the Academy of Court Reporting.
