Summary
Beau has advised clients on data privacy and cybersecurity matters for more than eight years. He began his legal career in the U.S. Department of Justice, where he obtained a TS/SCI clearance and advised on data protection in the law enforcement and intelligence contexts.
He then served as in-house counsel at a Fortune 500 company operating in over 40 countries, where he advised on U.S. and international privacy laws, with a particular emphasis on the federal and provincial laws of Canada, as well as the laws of Europe, the UK, Argentina, Brazil, and China.
Beau brought his extensive experience and passion for data privacy to the firm in 2024, where he advises clients regarding the following matters:
- Applicability of and compliance with all U.S. state comprehensive privacy laws.
- Contract, notice, and policy drafting and negotiation, including data processing agreements and website/app privacy notices.
- Due diligence related to mergers and acquisitions.

- Data protection impact assessments.
- Cross-border transfers including Data Privacy Framework registration and standard contract clauses.
- Cybersecurity and breach response.

- Biometric data processing laws, including BIPA.
- Text messaging and email legal compliance, including under TCPA and CAN-SPAM.
- Third-party data sharing matters such as data sales, cookies, chat bots, embedded videos, and screen recording, including under the VPPA.
