
Summary
Austin is an associate in Taft’s Minneapolis office in the Energy practice group. He focuses his practice on energy facility permitting, electric and natural gas utility ratemaking and regulation, administrative and appellate proceedings, and representing utilities in property tax valuations.
Prior to joining Taft, Austin worked as a DOE Clean Energy Innovator Fellow for the Minnesota Public Utilities Commission. Austin earned his J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in English language and literature with an emphasis in legal studies from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. While in law school, Austin was the Symposium Director and Associate Editor for the Journal of Law and Public Policy and was a member of the Thurgood Marshall Moot Court team.
