Ann Cottongim

Director of Municipal & Legislative Relations Indianapolis

Summary

As director of municipal and legislative relations, Ann directs Taft’s objectives involving local and state government affairs by maintaining and nurturing relationships with municipal, county and state officials. Ann shares Taft’s experience, capabilities and innovative solutions for local government entities by taking the lead in building statewide connections.

Prior to joining Taft, Ann served as Deputy Director and CFO of Aim (Accelerate Indiana Municipalities, formerly known as Indiana Association of Cities and Towns (IACT)). As Deputy Director, Ann managed the Association’s finances along with the Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers and Aim Affiliate Groups. Together with her financial responsibilities, Ann served as the Director of Trust Operations for Aim overseeing the establishment, growth and management of the Aim Medical Trust. Prior to becoming Deputy Director and CFO, Ann served as Aim’s Government Affairs Manager where she was responsible for the implementation of the association’s legislative initiatives. This included serving as the primary staff liaison to the Legislative Committee, maintaining relationships with members of the Indiana General Assembly, Legislative Services Agency, state agency personnel and municipal officials.

Ann’s successes in both the municipal world and in the hallways of the Statehouse, and the relationships she has fostered over the last 15 years, make her a perfect fit to help foster Taft’s continued growth in both arenas.
