Summary
Alex is a staff attorney in Taft’s Columbus office.
Prior to joining Taft, Alex was a litigation and advisory senior attorney for the Internal Revenue Service’s Office of Chief Counsel where he litigated over 80 cases in U.S. Tax Court, working with varying tax controversies involving corporate tax, partnership tax, cryptocurrency, and others. He also worked with differing tax issues involving sales and use tax, commercial activity tax, and non-profits as an attorney in the Ohio Department of Taxation’s Tax Appeals Division.
Alex earned his J.D. from Capital University Law School and his bachelor’s degree in economics and English from Wofford College. Outside of his practice, Alex is an adjunct professor at the University of Denver where he lectures on various topics including research methodologies, tax law authorities, steps in the research process, persuasive writing, and ethics/professional responsibility.
