Summary
Addison is an associate in Taft’s Commercial Litigation Practice Group.
Prior to joining Taft, Addison was an associate at an Am Law 50 firm. While there, his practice primarily consisted of fair lending consulting, banking litigation arising under the Uniform Commercial Code, and consumer financial services-related litigation, compliance, and regulatory investigations. Additionally, Addison played an integral role in enhancing the firm’s blockchain/cryptocurrency-related podcast, which examined topics such as decentralized exchanges, non-fungible tokens, and important state and federal regulatory developments impacting the industry at-large.
Additionally, Addison brings deep functionality to Taft’s FinTech/PayTech practices, blending crypto-fluency with proficiency in payment-regulatory frameworks—including money transmission laws, the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and its implementing regulation, Reg. E, and the Bank Secrecy Act. Addison is well-positioned to guide emerging and established payments platforms through statutory, regulatory, and compliance challenges.
While in law school, Addison served as a legal writing assistant; a judicial extern to the Hon. Charles P. Kocoras of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois; and the Managing and Business Editor of the DePaul Journal of Health Care Law as a published author.
