Abra J. Kaplan

Abra is an associate in Taft’s Chicago office and focuses her practice on all aspects of commercial litigation.

She has developed a robust practice and gained experience in a variety of issues through multiple internships and a clerkship at the federal and state levels. Abra was a judicial intern to the Hon. Richard L. Gabriel, Colorado Supreme Court, and the Hon. Robert J. Krask, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia. Most recently, she served as a judicial law clerk to the Hon. Damon R. Leichty, U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Indiana.

Abra earned her law degree from William & Mary Law School and her bachelor’s degree in politics from Bates College. During law school, Abra served as Senior Articles Editor for the William & Mary Business Law Review and was a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution competition team, where she won the Written Advocacy Award for Best Brief at the 2024 Tulane International Baseball Arbitration Competition. She also worked as a summer associate with the firm.
