Wheatley Featured in 2016 Ohio Super Lawyers Magazine Article
Taft partner Susan E. Wheatley is featured in the 2016 Ohio Super Lawyers magazine article “A Planner and a Poet,” which discusses her switch from litigation to estate planning work, recognizes her board work for the Ohio Justice and Policy Center and uncovers her love for poetry. Wheatley has been selected for inclusion in Ohio Super Lawyers since 2004 and was honored as one of the top 25 women in Cincinnati and one of the top 50 women in Ohio.
Wheatley is chair of Taft’s Private Client group. She works extensively with clients on estate planning, wills, trusts, powers of attorney and health care advance directives, probate, and related estate, gift and income tax advising. She enjoys working with a wide range of family businesses on their succession planning. Techniques she uses include establishing and transferring family LLCs and limited partnerships, setting up GRATs and creating generation-skipping and dynasty trusts. She has a particular interest in working with art and collectibles, including donations to charities.
