Thompson to Speak on Panel at Race and the Law Symposium
Taft Chicago partner Derrick Thompson, Jr. will be a panelist at Loyola University Chicago School of Law’s Race and the Law Symposium on Feb. 2. The event, “Keeping Pace: A Discussion on Minority Underrepresentation in the Legal Profession, the Challenges These Attorneys Face and the Work to be Done,” will explore minority representation within the legal field and expanding access to the profession. Speakers will discuss the unique challenges lawyers and students of color experience throughout their legal careers.

Thompson is a member of Taft’s Litigation and Intellectual Property groups. He has significant experience representing clients in complex business disputes and related negotiations. Thompson focuses on a variety of litigation matters, including partnership disputes, real estate litigation, employment litigation, intellectual property disputes, trust and fiduciary litigation, and sports and entertainment-related disputes.
