The Burton Awards Select Lyle Wallace as Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Awards Winner

Taft (formerly Sherman & Howard) partner Lyle A. Wallace has been selected as a Law360 Distinguished Legal Writing Awards winner by the Burton Awards, which recognizes 20 legal authors selected from the nation’s top 1,000 law firms.

The Burton Awards is operated in association with the Library of Congress, presented by lead sponsor Law360, and co-sponsored by the American Bar Association and Sullivan & Cromwell LLP.  Legal writing submissions are reviewed by the Academic Board, consisting of individuals from Harvard Law School, Georgetown Law Center, UC Berkley School of Law, the Library of Congress, and the Burton Awards Program.

This honor is in recognition of Wallace’s article “The Election is Coming: How will the 2024 Presidential Election Affect the M&A Market,” published in June 2024, prior to the General Election in November.

Established in 1999 and funded by the Burton Foundation, the Burton Awards is a non-profit organization and academic effort devoted to recognizing and rewarding excellence in the legal profession. They were established to honor the finest accomplishments in law, including writing, reform, and public service.

Wallace is a corporate and M&A attorney at Taft/Sherman & Howard where he advises companies and private equity groups through complex domestic and international mergers and acquisitions transactions.

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, Sherman & Howard combined with Taft, creating a firm powered by more than 1,000 attorneys from Washington, D.C. to the Mountain West. The combination enables both firms to deepen their benches of attorneys and strengthen their service offerings.
